There are a variety of options for traveling to Koh Tao depending on your budget and schedule.

From Bangkok or Phuket you can fly to Koh Samui and then hop on one of the daily ferries to Koh Tao.

For the best compromise in comfort and price from Bangkok you can reserve a private bunk and take the overnight train to Chumporn. Then take the morning express ferry over to Koh Tao.
